See images. It's like perfboard without copper (0.1" spacing and everything) and you can put "pins" in the holes where you solder the components on. Second image is just an empty piece with no pins installed on top of a breadboard for comparison. Appreciate your help...

That was the original "Vectorboard" from 60 years ago. Long before pad-per-hole perfboard and plug-in "breadboard" technology.You can still buy the little pins and the board, but the newer technology seems far more convenient (and probably cheaper as well.)
