I operate an electronics lab supporting manufacturing and refurbishment operations at a company where electronics is not the primary focus. The board lab is temporarily being moved to a new location while construction and other renovations take place at the primary site in preparation for some major contracts we have won. The room I am being moved into is much smaller than what I have now and does not have a ventilation system sufficient to support stripping, soldering, staking, and coating operations. I am looking at options for fume hoods and an ERV ventilation system. The new room does abut an exterior wall so we can punch a vent hole if need be. I have done some searching and am not liking the options I am finding. Does anyone have a fume hood setup either at work or their home lab that can make some recommendations? Maybe post a picture or two so I can get some inspiration?

If you can punch a hole through an exterior wall as you suggest, it will open up inexpensive options vs. a formal fume hood (whether it be a range hood or some DIY solution)..
