TVM920 multiple feeder strokes

On my TVM920, I have to configure a feeder for a TQFP-32 package.
It's on a 16mm tape, with a distance between components of 12mm. As the feeder can only advance either 4 or 8mm per stroke, I need to somehow tell the machine to advance 3 strokes.
The "manual" that came with the machine shows a field in the feeder setup that may well serve this purpose but, alas, this field is not present in the software that came with the machine, nor in the latest version I got from QiHe.
The .dat file that holds the feeder information does contain a field that seems to correspond, but before hacking this I would like to know if anyone has -successfully- dealt with this already.
