Conformal coating for PCB

Conformal coating ’s introduction  

1. Conformal coating is a paint,having the performance of mould,moisture,dust resistance to sudden heating,anti-aging,salt fog resistance,vibration resist and so on. Conformal coating is normal coating in the industry, which is two kinds of automatic painting and painting by hand. Printed circuit board, done with conformal coating, it will form a comformal protection in the surface for PCB’s safety and reliability.

   It’s easy to break PCB down when printed circuit board is corrosion ,softening, warp, mildew, resulting from chemical environment (fuel,coolant ), vibration, high dust , salt spray, humidity and heat and so on in realistic condition. Conformal coating is done in the surface of printed circuit board, with a flexible and 25-50μm of thickness film. It could protect the circuit board from the bad condition.

    (1)All coating should be working under no less than 20°C. Printed circuit board will take in the humidity as a composite if dehumidify, leading to conformal coating can’t protect (predrying,dry quit mass humidity)

   (2)painting thickness :film thickness is within 0.005mm-0.15mm,thickness of dry film is 25μm-40μm.

   (3) surface drying: ventilation and dry after coating with 20-30 minutes, making surface drying,it will work after drying, but avoiding collision in the process.

   (4)painting solidify: it must be up to unsticky under the normal temperature 8-16 hours.

   (5) second drying:it could make the second drying after painting solidify to make sure  reliability requiring product’s thickness.(depending on requirement to make the second drying.)

   Conformal coating ’s attention  

   (1) For the right track ,PCBA is doing with break-up tab and the width of more than 5mm.

   (2) The length and width of PCBA board’s maximum is 410*410mm，minimum is 10*10mm.

   (3) The height of PCBA assembly’s maximum is 80mm.
